Miri, a stewardess in “El-Al” and a second-time widow, is temporarily sharing her apartment with her sister, who is experiencing marital problems. One day, her Chinese cleaning-lady, Liang-Su, asks permission to go out for an hour and leave her quiet six year old son in the apartment. She goes out – but does not come back, leaving Miri with the son and no way of reaching her. Desperately trying to find the mother, she discovers she was deported to China by the immigration police; as her son was born in Israel, he is not legally registered and there is no legitimate way to send him to China. While planning the journey to China to bring the child, who she calls “Noodle”, back to his mother, a connection of love and trust forms between Miri and the child, two lost and distant characters, who help each other come back to life.
